Take your first steps back to work with Successful Mums
Are you a mum looking to return to work in 2018? Get practical advice, boost your confidence and make connections to flexible, family friendly employers on our free Successful Mums workshops this spring.
It’s easy to lose confidence and direction when you have a baby and are away from the workplace for a while. When it comes to returning to work, the challenges can seem overwhelming if you don’t know where to start.
Having helped more than 3,500 London mums back into employment, skills and training organisation Successful Mums knows all about these challenges – and how to overcome them. In partnership with Peabody, it is running three fun and professional workshops to help Thamesmead mums take their first steps back to work.
“We’ve designed these sessions specifically for parents,” says Successful Mums founder Jane Knight. “We’ll help you identify the parenting skills you have that employers are looking for, be clear about what you want to do and what you have to offer, and build your confidence and self-esteem.”
As well as the basic aspects of job seeking (CVs, interview techniques and preparation), the course covers subjects such as personal branding and social media etiquette.
As part of a group of mums who are all ‘in the same boat’ and are encouraged to help and support one another, you’ll take small, practical steps each week to get your job search off the ground. After completing all three workshops, you’ll also be given 1 to 1 support to help you find flexible work to fit around your family.
