Successful Mums and Gin
We had a great turn out again last month for the Find a Job you Love and Business Start-up workshops, run in partnership for the second time with Mummy’s Gin Fund.
Providing a platform for mums looking to return to work our Find a Job you Love session covered new career ideas such as digital media, health and social care, event management, virtual PAs and becoming a workplace assessor, along with CV secrets and top tips to feel relaxed at interviews as well as sharing the good and bad examples of interview questioning.
In the Business Start-up session, we looked at the 12 steps to turn that idea (that goes around and around) in your head into reality. Researching, knowing your market, pricing and gaining customers were just some of the other key topics covered. And, of course, the work life balance tips that have been tried and tested.
Donna Ford, who attended the very same workshop last year, was our guest speaker, sharing her fantastic progress with the group about her business blog skirtingboards and chanderliers.
We had to have Mummy’s Gin Fund founder, Helen Hamston joining us ‘via satellite’ from delightful Devon, creating a dynamic mix of speakers, advice and good energy.
Meeting and chatting with like-minded women, injected with a BIG shot of confidence, fun and encouragement the workshops were awarded 5-star reviews and more importantly, helped our MGF Successful Mums take steps into their successful futures. Big thank you to everyone involved as all profits went to the wonderful charity Bliss.
Despite collaborating with Mummy’s Gin Fund and being delivered in the wonderful Crown Tavern in Lee, no gin touched our lips…
