Successful Mums: your first stop for flexibility
JILLFlexible Friendly Employer
When Successful Mums ‘grad’ Jill Ladd was searching for a part-time bookkeeper, she knew exactly where to turn.
“The first place I thought to look was Successful Mums,” says Jill, who set up her own personal training business after taking our Start-up course and having 1 to 1 coaching with Jane Knight.
“I advertised on the Job Board and had a great response. I worked in the corporate world for 30 years, so I’ve interviewed a lot of people and dealt with a lot of employment agencies – and you don’t always get what you ask for. But the CVs Successful Mums sent me were all really strong and relevant, and I was impressed by all the people I interviewed.”
Jill says that, given the Successful Mums ethos, she was confident she’d find someone with not only the qualifications and experience she was looking for but also the right attitude, approach and organisational skills for the job.
“I was looking for someone who didn’t physically need to be in the office, as a lot of the work could be done at home. I knew that by bringing in a Successful Mum, it was going to be someone I’d be able to trust and with the necessary discipline and organisation skills to work remotely,” she says.
“That’s one of the things that really impresses me about the women Successful Mums work with – they’re motivated, they want to work flexibly and they’re prepared to put the work in. Lynda has three young children and she’s able work flexibly around her family, so it suits both of our needs.
“The great thing about Successful Mums is that it’s not just about getting the right candidate for the job, it’s about getting the right job for the candidate. As someone who’s experienced different sides of the organisation, I’m really passionate about what they do.”
